Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Every time we've been here it's delicious! Love the 2 for 1 margaritas!!!! Food portions were huge! The combos were soo yummy! Be sure to try the cheese dip it's super creamy!

I was there this week with my husband for lunch and we liked it, warm chips with a well prepared salsa, chicken chipotle medium spicy, rice/refried beans perfect , my husband had fajitas and I loved that the veggies were well cooked the side dish with the rice, beans, guacamole, crema, pico de gallo and enough tortillas, they charge extra for more crema so be aware, service was very good, the waiter was on top. They also have a 2 for 1 beer, margarita or sangria all day but we didn't try it, maybe next time.

My wife and I stopped at Pueblo Viejo for lunch, the food was really good, I ordered steak fajitas, and my wife had pollo with chipotle sauce. The margaritas also were really nice. Overall a good experience for lunch, we will definitely come back.

Yuck. Water flavored salsa. Bland cheese dip. Mushy food. Iffy service. $30 for two. Calories wasted.

My friends and I stopped at This restaurant on our road trip because we saw the reviews on yelp. It exceeded our expectations we ordered 5 different dishes and they all were phenomenal! Our server was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Highly recommended!

My wife and I went and the food is generally ok, But it was terrible and boarder line inedible the last time we ate here. New management?

The food here use to be great. But it was terrible and boarder line inedible the last two times I ate here. My brother had a bad experience as well. New management? Or just lower standards? I won't return.

Ordered chicken chalupa and chicken enchiladas. The enchilada was horribly dry stringy chicken in a tortilla with cheese melted on the top. The chalupa was even worse. It had the dried out stringy chicken with dried out veggies. Absolutely NO flavor. I had to dip the chicken in the watery salsa to be able to choke it down. Chips were stale. The only half way decent part was the rice and beans. Taco bell's food is a million times better than this crap. The wait staff has no personality and was a bit rude. I should of known this place was no good considering it was empty on a Saturday night at 7pm.

This place has the worst tasting food in PSL. The wait staff was fast and friendly. No reason to ever go back. I give it -1 star

Excellent chips and salsa. My wife and I always split the chicken or steak fajitas because there is enough for two. It comes to the table sizzling hot. They offer both corn and flour tortillas. Your pick. Service is great and they have good fountain Coke too. Enough seating for large parties.

If you're a big fan of Stouffers or Taco Bell, but just want to pay more, you should definitely go to Pueblo Viejo. I ordered the "carne asada" which apparently, at Pueblo Viejo, is Spanish for "over cooked chuck steak covered in government cheese". After paying the $11 and choking down all the free stale chips and water based salsa I could stomach, I indulged in as much of this dish as my brain kept telling my stomach what that $11 could have purchased. Like my brain was actually mad at my stomach for getting us in so much trouble. The staff is nice. I wouldn't want to say anything bad about them just because they serve gruel with a side of cumin. Always kept my diet coca cola refilled and what not. Suffice to say, even with a side of a bottle of tequila, I can't imagine a reason one would willingly dine at this establishment.

We have been going here since it opened. We have our favorites: my partner always gets number 12 with shredded beef and I normally get a warrior burrito. Delicious! I have been trying other dishes and have enjoyed every one of them. The staff is courteous and takes good care of us. There is no doubt we will be back in a few weeks as we are regulars.

Waiter was nice. Complementary watered down salsa was very heavy in cilantro. Beer was flat and tasted A bit off. Plates were hot but food wasn't good. I thought the chimichanga going to be good but the ends were hard and the chicken rubbery. I love queso, but there's became like velvetta as soon as it started to cool off. Once was enough for me!

Super nachos are awesome . I went yesterday and tried the chimichanga it also was very good . Great portions . Good service.

This place is awful. We moved up from south Florida this is the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Taco Bell is WAY better then this place & a whole lot cheaper. I was excepting good food from the reviews but this people must have never lived outside of psl.

A good Mexican restaurant. Excellent chips and salsa. Beans and rice are flavorful. Presentation could be improved but the service is friendly and attentive. Burritos are a favorite here.

The food was mediocre at best. Found it very bland. Even the "hot" salsa was quite mild. The taco salad I got was ice cold, including the meat. I found the chips were the only thing I enjoyed. Even the Fried Ice Cream was chewy and hard to chew.

This is a fine Mexican restaurant. Not outstanding, but passable. If you're in the mood for Mexican, it's worth a try, particularly if you, like we were tonight, are looking for something that's open when everything else in the neighborhood is closed! (Labor Day)

Probably one of the things I miss MOST about Florida since moving to Boston 5 years ago, and always one of my first stops when I come back for a visit! From the moment you arrive, the staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive, and I have never waited more than a minute for a drink and fresh homemade chips and salsa (seriously, the stuff dreams are made of!!). The food is consistently delicious, from burritos and enchiladas to fantastic traditional dishes (shrimp a la Mexicana es mi all-time favorito). Even the rice and beans, served in epic proportions with all entrees, are perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. In short: excellent, no-frills, homemade food at a reasonable price...fills you heart, soul, and stomach. My only gripe is the lack of a full bar, which sadly means no excitingly flavored margaritas or mojitos, but WELL worth settling for an iced tea to delight in the amazing food.

I've been to 3 of these PV and was not impressed and will not go back. Very disappointed in the Mexican food in this area. They just don't seem to care.

Stopped by for lunch traveling south from Orlando. They immediately brought us chips and two salsas; mild and medium. These are the thinner type of salsa (normally I prefer chunkier, but it was pretty tasty). The chips were the "bag" variety, not homemade, but that's unfortunately to be expected. The real test, of course, is how well they make authentic Mexican dishes: and they passed that with flying colors. Other than the rice (dry and flavorless), the main dishes were well made and flavorful. The tacos adobada (pork) were amazing - and plenty of it on my huge plate. The chicken fajitas were served piping hot, with tasty peppers and onions and all the trimmings. Fish tacos (plain for my son) were delicious; perfectly seasoned. Overall, this may not be the best I have ever had, but they sure as heck surprised me with authentic dishes and above average Mexican fare.

This Pueblo has been one of my long time favorites. Their food is consistently good and they tend to be a pretty quick meal. The prices were raised about a year ago, otherwise I would claim that they are the best, cheapest, sit-down meal in PSL (but they're now "average" price). They don't have their liquor license so you can only get beer and wine and wine-based sangria (No margaritas. Poo.) The staff is incredibly friendly and you'll find that once you go there enough they start to remember your favorite orders. We've gone to other Pueblos in the area and have recognized a lot of the servers from this location at the other ones (esp. downtown Jensen).

Good place. Got the whole fried tilapia and loved it. I would recommend.

Probably the best Mexican Restaurant in Town. The foods are great, but sometimes it can depend on who is working in the kitchen. Once we were able to get shrimp fajitas extra spicy, which caused other patrons to wheeze and gag when they brought the dish to our table. It was quite funny to hear people complain about our dish. I would go back again if I had to return to this city.

Pueblo Viejo is one of the best mexican restaurants we have been to. It is consistently great food, great service. They do have margaritas, but only regular ones no flavored ones. Otherwise it is beer, wine and sangria.
